Before you start
Shopify must be connected (Settings > Integrations) — attribution tracks Shopify orders
At least one campaign should be running or calls should be happening for attribution data to appear
How attribution works
Consio ties Shopify revenue back to phone interactions. When a customer places an order after a connected call, voicemail, or SMS, Consio attributes that sale to the interaction — as long as it falls within the attribution window.
Default attribution windows
Interaction type | Default window | What it means |
Connected call | 7 days | A sale within 7 days of a connected call is attributed to that call |
Voicemail | 1 day | A sale within 1 day of a voicemail drop is attributed to the voicemail |
SMS | 7 days | A sale within 7 days of an SMS is attributed, but only if the customer replied to the SMS |
Touchpoint model
Consio supports two attribution models:
First touch — revenue is attributed to the first interaction in the window
Last touch — revenue is attributed to the most recent interaction before the purchase
Configure this in Settings > Attribution.
Adjusting attribution windows
You can customize the window for each interaction type:
Go to Settings > Attribution
Adjust the window for connected calls, voicemails, and SMS independently
Save
When to widen the window:
Products with longer purchase consideration (luxury goods, high-ticket items)
B2B accounts where the buying cycle spans weeks
Winback campaigns targeting customers who haven't purchased in months
When to narrow the window:
Impulse-buy products where the call should drive an immediate purchase
Abandoned cart recovery where the cart expires in a few days
Understanding your attribution data
Attribution shows up across the platform:
Campaign dashboard — revenue attributed to each campaign's calls
Agent performance — revenue attributed per agent
Call history — individual call records show whether a sale was attributed
Phone Hub — overall revenue attribution across all interactions
Common questions
Can a single order be attributed to multiple interactions?
No — each order is attributed to one interaction based on your touchpoint model (first or last touch).
What if the customer calls inbound and then buys?
Inbound connected calls follow the same attribution window as outbound calls.
Why does my voicemail attribution seem low?
The default voicemail window is only 1 day. If customers typically buy 2–3 days after receiving a voicemail, consider widening the window.
Why does SMS require a reply?
SMS attribution only counts when the customer replied to your text. This ensures the attribution reflects actual engagement, not just a message received. Sent-only SMS (no reply) are not attributed.
How to verify it worked
After configuring attribution settings, make a test call to a known customer, then check:
Go to Settings > Attribution and confirm your windows are set
After a customer purchases within the window, check the campaign dashboard — the Revenue attributed column should show the sale
Check the individual call record in call history — it should show "Sale attributed" with the order amount
