Getting a Consio agent follows four steps: a discovery conversation, agent matching, training, and go-live. Most brands are up and running within one week.
Step 1: Discovery
We start by learning about your brand, your products, and what you want your agent to focus on. This is a short conversation, usually 15 to 30 minutes, where we cover:
What your brand sells and who your customers are
Which campaigns make the most sense for your business (cart recovery, inbound, reorder, and others)
Your preferred agent hours and schedule
Any specific preferences for your agent, such as communication style or experience level
Tip: Cart recovery is the most common starting point. It is low complexity and produces measurable results fast.
Step 2: Agent matching
Once we understand your needs, we source and vet candidates for your account. You will receive 2 to 3 agent profiles, each with:
A summary of their experience and background
Relevant skills and language proficiency
A voice sample so you can hear how they sound
You choose the agent that feels like the best fit for your brand. If none of the initial candidates are right, we will source more. There is no pressure to settle.
Important: Your agent is dedicated to your brand. They learn your products, your tone, and your customers. This is not a shared call center.
Step 3: Training
We build the training and we run it. What we need from you is the detail that makes it yours.
Before your agent takes a single call, we build a training program specific to your brand using your website, your product catalog, and anything else you share. Then we work through it together:
The script. We draft it, you review it. You tell us what sounds right and what does not.
Your products. What matters, what gets misunderstood, and the questions customers ask most.
Objection handling. The pushback your customers actually give, and how you want it answered.
How your brand speaks. Formal or casual, how hard to push, and when to back off.
Your agent completes platform training and brand training before making their first call.
Step 4: Go-live
Once training is done, we handle the rest of the setup.

Your first week, day by day
Before day 1: setup. Once you pay the $30 activation fee, onboarding begins immediately. We create your dedicated Slack channel, introduce you to your onboarding team, and start sourcing agent candidates matched to your brand.
Tip: The faster you provide product information and Shopify access, the faster your agent can be trained and start calling.
Days 1 to 2: selection and training. You review the agent profiles and choose your agent. We build the brand training and your agent completes it, along with platform training, before making a single call.
Days 3 to 4: first calls. Your agent starts calling, usually beginning with your highest-intent campaign, which is normally abandoned checkout recovery. Our team monitors early calls closely for quality. You can listen to call recordings in your dashboard at any time. Expect questions from your agent in Slack about products, promotions, and edge cases.
Important: Early questions from your agent are a good sign. It means they are engaging with real customer scenarios and learning your business.
Days 5 to 7: first results. Performance data appears in your dashboard: calls made, connections, and attributed sales. Your operations team shares early observations in Slack. You may see your first attributed sales within this window, since cart recovery campaigns often produce results within days. The team adjusts scripts, timing, and targeting based on what the data shows.
What ramp looks like
Every brand is different. Ramp time depends on product complexity:
Simple, single category (supplements, accessories, single-SKU brands): 1 to 2 days
Moderate complexity (skincare, home goods, subscription boxes): 3 to 4 days
Large catalog or B2B (multi-category retailers, wholesale plus DTC): 5 to 7 days
Your agent gets better every day. Call experience, your knowledge base, and ongoing coaching mean performance typically improves steadily through the first month.
Your role in the first week
The most successful launches happen when brands stay engaged during the first few days:
Respond to agent questions in Slack. Quick answers help your agent get up to speed faster.
Listen to a few early call recordings. Flag anything that does not match your brand voice.
Share any active promotions or discount codes so your agent can reference them on calls.
Give feedback. The first week is the best time to shape how your agent represents you.
What happens next
After go-live, performance data flows into your Consio dashboard: calls made, connections, and sales attributed. Your dedicated Slack channel keeps you in the loop with daily updates and a direct line to your agent and the Consio operations team.
You are never locked in. There are no minimum terms and no minimum hours, so you can start small and scale as you see results.
