Business verification is the first gate to a working phone presence. When it stalls, everything behind it stalls too: SMS (text messaging), caller ID, and carrier trust. This article covers why verifications get stuck and how to get yours approved.
If you have not started verification yet, start here instead: Business verification: complete your Trust Center setup.
How to check your status
Go to Settings > Trust Center. Your verification shows one of three states: pending review, rejected, or approved.
Pending is normal for 3 to 5 business days. If you are inside that window, no action is needed.
The number one rejection cause: your names do not match
The carrier compares three things:
The legal business name on your registration documents
The business name on your website
The name on your Consio account
If these tell different stories, the verification fails. A real example our support team sees often: registration documents say one company name, the website shows a brand name, and the account uses a third name. The carrier cannot confirm they are the same business.
The fix: use your exact legal name everywhere in the verification form, and make sure your website footer or terms page shows that legal name somewhere the carrier can find it.
The other common blockers
Problem | Fix |
Address on documents does not match the form | Use the address exactly as registered |
Missing registration number | US: EIN (Employer Identification Number). Canada: BN (Business Number) |
Website unreachable or under construction | The carrier visits your site. It must load and look like a real business |
Personal name instead of legal business name | Sole proprietors: use the name on your tax registration |
If the authorized representative cannot be verified
A common rejection is that the person named in Authorized Representatives cannot be publicly tied to the business. The reviewer checks sources like your website team page, business social accounts, and Secretary of State or company-registry records.
To clear it, either name a representative who does appear in those public sources, or reply to the rejection with a link that shows the connection between the person and the business. Adding the person to your public team page before resubmitting is usually the fastest fix.
Rejection codes
If your rejection includes a code, this table tells you what it means:
Code | What it means | What to do |
30445 | Your business details did not check out | Check the business name, address, contact details and public website you submitted. Correct any inconsistency between them before resubmitting. |
30484 | The business name does not match your website or official records | Correct the name so it matches, or supply your DBA name with records that support it. |
Before you resubmit
Resubmitting without changing anything restarts the clock and usually ends the same way. Fix the mismatch first, then resubmit once.
When to escalate
If you have been pending for more than 5 business days, or you were rejected and the reason is unclear, invite our support team to your account so we can check the carrier status directly:
Settings > Members > Invite User
Important: verification unlocks SMS registration, which takes another 5 to 7 business days. If texting matters to your launch, start verification on day one.
