Before you start
Before submitting your porting request, make sure:
Your Google Voice account is active.
The phone number you want to transfer is active.
You have access to the Google account linked to your Google Voice number.
You have access to the email associated with your Google Voice account.
You unlock your Google Voice number before starting the port.
You do not cancel your Google Voice service before the transfer is complete.
Google charges a $3 fee to unlock a Google Voice number for porting.
Information you’ll need from Google Voice
Prepare the following information before starting your port request:
Account number
Use your Google Voice phone number as the account number.
Example:
+1 416 555 0123
PIN
Use your Google Voice voicemail PIN.
If you do not have a voicemail PIN, use:
0000
Billing proof
You’ll need proof that your Google Voice number has been unlocked.

Letter of Authorization
You may be asked to complete a Letter of Authorization (LOA) as part of the porting process.
How to unlock your Google Voice number
1. Open the Google Voice unlock page
Go to:
google.com/voice/unlock
Sign in to the Google account associated with the number you want to port.
2. Select your phone number
If you have multiple Google Voice numbers, make sure you select the correct one.
Click Unlock my number.
3. Pay the unlock fee
Google charges a $3 fee to unlock the number.
Complete the payment using Google Pay.
4. Confirm the number is unlocked
After payment, check the Number Porting status.
It should show:
Unlocked

How to port your Google Voice number to Consio
1. Unlock your Google Voice number
Complete the Google Voice unlocking process before submitting your port request.
The unlock is typically immediate after payment.
2. Gather your account information
Prepare:
Your Google Voice phone number
Your voicemail PIN or
0000A screenshot showing the number as unlocked
Any additional account information requested
3. Submit your porting request to Consio
Start the number porting process with Consio and provide the requested Google Voice information and documentation.
4. Complete the Letter of Authorization
If required, complete the LOA with the same information associated with your Google Voice account.
Make sure all details are accurate to avoid delays.
5. Keep your Google Voice account active
Do not cancel or make changes that could affect the number while the port is being processed.
6. Wait for confirmation from Consio
We’ll let you know if additional information is required and confirm once the number has successfully moved to Consio.
How long does it take?
After your Google Voice number has been unlocked, the porting process typically takes around 1–2 weeks.
The number unlock itself is usually immediate after payment.
Will I lose my Google Voice messages?
No. Your existing Google Voice messages remain in your Google account after the phone number is transferred.
What if I forgot my Google Voice PIN?
If you do not have a voicemail PIN set up, use:
0000
when submitting your porting request.
Can I port a Google Workspace number?
Yes, but the process is different.
Google Workspace business numbers require a separate process managed through the Google Workspace Admin environment.
This guide applies to standard Google Voice numbers.
Should I cancel Google Voice before porting?
No. Keep your Google Voice account and phone number active until Consio confirms that the port has been completed successfully.
Cancelling or changing the service before the transfer is finished could delay or prevent the port.
