Not getting notified about calls? Turn on notifications

Enable call notifications in Consio: turn them on in the app, allow them in your browser, and switch off Do Not Disturb / Focus on Mac or Windows.

Consio sends a desktop notification when a call comes in, but three things all have to be switched on for it to reach you. If notifications aren't showing, work through the steps below in order.

You need all three enabled:

  1. Notifications turned on inside the Consio app

  2. Notifications allowed for Consio in your browser

  3. Do Not Disturb / Focus turned off on your computer

1. Enable notifications in the Consio app

In Consio, open Settings and find the Browser notifications section. Click Enable notifications for inbound calls. When it's on, the button reads Enabled.

The first time you enable this, your browser will ask for permission. Click Allow. If you missed the prompt or clicked Block, fix it in Step 2.

2. Allow notifications in your browser

Your browser keeps its own permission for each site. If notifications are blocked here, Consio can't reach you even when Step 1 is on.

In Chrome, go to app.consio.ai, click the controls icon on the left side of the address bar, and switch Notifications on. Reload the tab afterward.

Windows users: Chrome also needs system-level permission. Go to Settings → System → Notifications and make sure Google Chrome is toggled on. Without this, Windows silently hides browser notifications.

3. Turn off Do Not Disturb / Focus

If Do Not Disturb (Mac) or Do not disturb / Focus (Windows) is on, your computer holds back notifications from every app, Consio included. This lives in a different place on each system.

macOS — quick check from the menu bar

Click Control Center in the top-right menu bar, open Focus, and make sure Do Not Disturb is not highlighted (off).

macOS — check for a schedule

Focus can turn itself on automatically. Open System Settings → Focus → Do Not Disturb and, under Set a Schedule, confirm nothing is scheduled to enable it during your working hours.

Windows — turn off Do not disturb

Go to Settings → System → Notifications. Set Do not disturb to Off. Then expand Turn on do not disturb automatically and confirm the automatic rules (during set times, while gaming, in full-screen apps) aren't silencing you when you need calls.

Still not working? Confirm all three

  • Consio app: Browser notifications shows Enabled

  • Browser: Notifications allowed for app.consio.ai (and, on Windows, Chrome allowed in system Notifications)

  • Computer: Do Not Disturb / Focus is off, with no schedule turning it back on

If all three are on and calls still aren't notifying you, reach out to Consio support with your browser and operating system so we can help.
