Adding a store: Shopify, Klaviyo, catalog and discounts

How new stores get created, how each store connects its own integrations, and what syncs into its catalog and discounts.

A store holds its own product catalog, discounts, phone numbers and AI agents. There are two ways to add one.

Option 1: Connect a Shopify store (recommended)

Consio sets the store up from Shopify — name, website, currency and timezone — and products, orders and customers sync right away.

  1. In Settings, click + next to Stores, or Add store on the Shopify integration page.

  2. Enter your Shopify store URL (copy it from your Shopify admin: admin.shopify.com/store/your-store) and approve access in Shopify. The dialog spells out what Consio reads (products, orders and customers) and what it can change (nothing unless you explicitly allow it).

  3. Choose where the connection lands: an existing store that isn't connected yet, or Create a new store set up from that Shopify store.

Choosing which store a Shopify connection lands in, or creating a new one from it

  1. Review the store details and save. You don't need to wait — syncing continues in the background, and the store's catalog and discounts show a "Syncing..." state until it finishes.

Connecting Shopify to a store you created manually? A warning tells you first: Shopify will replace that store's website, currency and timezone, and once connected you change those from Shopify. The store's name, phone numbers and AI agents don't change.

Option 2: Create a blank store

Choose Create a new store and enter the details yourself — display name, website, currency and timezone. You can connect Shopify later.

Connect the store's other integrations

On the store's page, the Integrations section lists what's connected to this store:

  • Klaviyo — connect Klaviyo on each store that uses it; several stores can share one Klaviyo account. Its profiles and segments stay with the store it's connected to, so campaigns pull the right audience.

  • Subscription and returns apps (such as Recharge) — connected per store from the Integrations catalog.

  • Help desk (Gorgias, Re:amaze and others) — the exception: one connection per workspace, shown with a Workspace badge on the store page. Brands living inside one help desk account stay reachable through that single connection.

Keeping the commerce integrations per store is what keeps data clean: campaigns assigned to a store pull segments only from that store's integrations, and your AI agents and sidebar always show the right store's customers and orders.

The store's catalog and discounts

Each store carries its own Product catalog — the products synced from its Shopify store — and its own Discounts, managed per store. What your AI agents and team can offer is governed per store, not workspace-wide. That matters because with one global discount setup, a promotion meant for one brand can leak everywhere — a welcome code intended for new customers of one store ends up applied to every order the AI touches, across brands.

Where to find them:

  • On the store's page in Settings > Stores: the Product catalog entry ("view the products synced from Shopify") and the Discounts entry ("manage discounts linked to this store"), each with its count.

  • In the main sidebar under Configuration: Product catalog and Discounts, filterable by store.

  • Each product's detail drawer shows its store, status, type, and any discount attached to it.

Both sync from Shopify — a newly connected store shows "Syncing..." until its catalog and discounts arrive.

Two good habits: review each store's discounts when you add it — a new store syncs its own from Shopify and shouldn't inherit assumptions from your first store. And when you run a promotion for one brand, set it on that brand's store only, then check another store's AI isn't quoting it.

Finish the store's setup

  1. Check its timezone and business hours — see Store settings.

  2. Assign its phone numbers and AI agents, and add its knowledge — see Phone numbers, AI agents, and knowledge per store.

  3. Review its discounts (above) once syncing finishes.

Rolling out brand by brand

You don't have to bring every brand over at once. A common path is to run one brand live first, then add the next store once you're happy with the setup. If your busiest season is coming, set up new stores before or after the peak, not during it.
